The Kosovar Youth Council (KYC) is a youth non-governmental organization (NGO) established in 1999 in Prishtina, Kosovo. We act to build an active engagement of young people through youth participation in different forms of society. We are one of Kosova's oldest youth NGO that aim to activate youth, represent their voices, promote self-organized education, development of youth and actively involve them in the change making processes by strengthening and supporting their initiatives for development of youth policies. Nonetheless, KYC is determined to improve the quality of education in Kosovo. We established the biggest high school's student representative structure (Student Council of Kosovo- SCK) during 2005 that consists of 100 representatives from all the municipalities of Kosovo (30) and 96 high schools. Until now, 10 different generations have performed a great impact on quality of education even though they have worked in very poor conditions. KYC has 600 active volunteers per year and we geographically cover all the Albanian populated municipalities (30).
