The HOME Program provides education, financial assistance and resources for familieslooking to move towards home ownership. While the program was originally developedto work with low and moderate income families it has been accessed by all income levels.The Program has provided homeownership education to over 5,000 persons andcontinues to work with over 2,00 families including over 1200 that have been successfuland are now part of The Tool Box, a post-purchase program to insure home ownership issustained.The program currently is available in all major population centres in Alberta includingCalgary, Edmonton, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, Red Deer and Cold Lake. A largevolunteer base of local service providers coupled with financial contributions fromparticipating REALTORS® has enabled the program to provide over $1,000,000 infinancial assistance to program graduates.In 2006 The HOME Program was recognized for its achievement as the recipient of theEdmonton Housing Trust Fund's ROOPH Award for Outstanding Partnership, and theDuncan and Craig LLP Laurel Award.
