The BC4LS is a simultaneous virtual and physical knowledge centre, whose principal objective is to reflect on one of the greatest challenges of our age, namely long-term sustainability, to position Budapest and Hungary in international cultural life, and to create and operate a global intellectual field of force.A key objective of the Centre is to initiate international dialogues on the issue of long-term sustainability, to organise professional events, research programmes and competitions, to operate platforms based on the sharing of good practices, to prepare publications, and to promote excellent research and professional activities, thereby placing economic growth on new foundations and transforming thinking about the sustainable future.Members, and researchers of the BC4LS are foreign and domestic experts dealing with long-term sustainability as well as scientific members of the academia. The global nature of the initiative is also demonstrated by the fact that the Centre welcomes participants to its programmes from all over the world.
