REACH stands for Resilience/Reframing-Education-Advocacy-Community-HealingAs a Certified Mental Health Peer Support in Texas, my goal is to used my lived experience to help others living with psychiatric disorders. I am a Disabled Navy Vet with a PTSD and MST diagnosis married to a retired Disabled Vet also with a PTSD diagnosis. I am mother to a child diagnosed with High Functioning Aspergers, a stepmother, and soon to be a Caregiver. I recognize that many women struggle with knowing HOW to live with the effects and memories of traumatic events. Not all members of the military have PTSD and not everyone diagnosed with PTSD has military experience. Finding someone we can relate to is a challenge. As a Certified Mental Health Peer Support, I am passionate about meeting people where they are, NONJUDGMENTALLY, and sharing tools that may work for the individual. With me you will receive an abundance of resources in your preferred learning style. I encourage self-directed care and connections by volunteering and seeking the healing powers of nature and meditation.
