oil engineering company at Murphy Oil, Malaysia - Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Murphy Oil Corporation is an independent exploration and production company with a strong oil-weighted portfolio of global offshore and onshore assets with upside to our exploration program. Our global offshore operations are balanced by a predictable North America onshore business. Exploration activities are focused in four main regions: Deepwater Gulf of Mexico, the Atlantic Margin, Southeast Asia and Australia. Malaysia operations Murphy began operations in Malaysia in 1999 and is involved in the exploration and production of oil and gas offshore Sabah and Sarawak. Sabah - Murphy operates the Kikeh deepwater field, Malaysia's first deepwater project. Initially discovered in 2002 with first production in 2007, Murphy and its partner are recognized as pioneers of implementing deepwater technology in Malaysia. Murphy has continued to add more deepwater projects that are currently in production, namely Siakap North and Kakap. Murphy is also actively pursuing a development plan for its natural gas discoveries in the area. Sarawak – Murphy's initial success in Malaysia was the West Patricia field, which began production in 2003, two and a half years after discovery. The establishment of a production center at West Patricia provided the base infrastructure to allow Murphy to fully develop its surrounding acreage. With the additional oil discoveries made in two shallow water blocks, four additional fields are in production. In 2004 and 2005, Murphy made several natural gas discoveries in the two shallow water blocks. Three fields are already in production under a three-phase development plan to develop our natural gas discoveries in the region. In Sarawak, Murphy supplies gas to the Malaysia LNG facility via its Bintulu Onshore Receiving Facility.
