The name "Interlace" was based on the company's intent to build bridges between academic research on clusters and innovation systems and public / private sector practises. The company is sub-sequently followed by two separate businesses. The London based Bearing Consulting Ltd, a management consulting firm providing services in three focus areas; Places & Regions, Corporate Innovation and Bank & Finance, and the Copenhagen based Interlace Invent AS, a research-based consultancy firm specialising in the development and management of globally-competitive innovation environments.
