The Center for Medical Technology Policy (CMTP) is an independent, non-profit 501(c) (3) organization that works to make health care more effective and affordable by improving the quality, relevance, and efficiency of clinical research. Founded and led by Sean Tunis, MD, MSc, former Chief Medical Officer for CMS, CMTP staff are leaders in comparative effectiveness research (CER) and patient center outcomes research (PCOR). CMTP focuses on CER standards, research infrastructure, and policy and envisions a health care system where patients, clinicians, and those who pay for health care have the high quality, evidence-based information they need to make the best possible decisions.
