Ignite is a national tutoring corps designed to accelerate learning and foster belonging with students. Ignite builds on Teach For America's over 30 years of experience recruiting and developing leaders to partner with schools across the country to help students overcome the systemic barriers to an excellent education. Leveraging research-based best practices for high-impact tutoring, the Ignite Fellowship brings exceptional, equity-minded leaders into classrooms virtually to immediately add value with students and schools through customized learning. What is the Ignite Fellowship? Ignite leverages research-based best practices for high-impact tutoring to accelerate student learning and foster belonging.- 3-5 hours per week for 10-12 weeks- 1-3 students per Fellow- Elementary reading or middle school math- Leverages school curriculum- During school hours- Student groups are consistent to deepen relationships- Ongoing training and development from Teach For America and veteran educatorsFall Fellowship: Sept 26 - Dec 16, 2022Spring Fellowship: Jan 30 - April 28, 2023Fellows receive a $1200 (pre-tax) stipend upon successful completion of the Fellowship.Who are the Fellows?Fellows are exceptional, equity-minded leaders committed to:- Building deep relationships with students- Respecting students' identities across multiple dimensions- Affirming their capacity to succeed- Recognizing their agency and contributionsTo be eligible to apply, you must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, TFA alum, or previous Ignite Fellow.
