We, Dominican Volunteers USA, members of the Dominican Family, invite men and women to walk with us as volunteers.Compelled by the Gospel, we respond to the injustices of our day by ministering with our sisters and brothers, especially those who are poor and marginalized.Recognizing existing inequalities, we invest time and energy working toward systemic change.Within diverse, intergenerational communities we live out the Dominican mission of preaching the Gospel through the four pillars of Dominican Life: ministry, community, prayer and study. For the past 19 years Dominican Volunteers USA has been placing committed individuals in yearlong terms of service in our nation's most vulnerable communities. Last year alone, our volunteers provided over 30,000 hours dedicated to service, direct aid, and social justice. These volunteers are preaching God's love through service and participating in the 800 year tradition of the Dominican Order by teaching in impoverished areas, working with and as advocates for victims of abuse, giving the gift of companionship to elders, and providing direct services and support to immigrants, refugees, and people with disabilities. Their work not only impacts the areas they serve, but also inspires us to serve and fight injustice.
