McMillen is a woman-owned business specializing in heavy civil construction. Our organizational structure ensures a seamless integration of the environmental, engineering, and construction team throughout a project's execution. We have utilized this model successfully on a wide range of projects throughout the West for the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service (Regions 1, 2, 6, and 8), USACE (Walla Walla, Seattle, San Francisco, and Sacramento Districts), the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation (Pacific Northwest and Upper Colorado Regions), PacifiCorp, Portland General Electric, Seattle City Light, and Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indians Reservation. We were founded as a water resource design-build company providing a unique business model of in-house environmental and engineering capabilities coupled with a self-executing construction division. To use the industry term, we own "yellow iron" with a full complement of construction managers, cost estimators, superintendents, foremen, and laborers required to execute both our hard bid and design-build projects. Our interdisciplinary approach helps ensure projects are consistent with regulatory and client expectations; are based on the best available science; thoughtfully consider the site's opportunities and constraints; and provide economically and technically sound construction solutions.
