Flen Pharma NV was established in November 2000, building on the results of wound-treatment research performed by its managing director, a pharmacist. Flen Pharma developed two patents. Based on these patented technologies, Flen Pharma developed and commercialises a number of advanced wound and skin care products. Flen Pharma holds an ISO 13485 certificate that covers all its operations. Thanks to the success on the Belgian market, Flen Pharma initiated its international expansion. This resulted in the establishment of new Flen Pharma companies (in the Netherlands, in G.D. Luxembourg and in Germany) and in contracting with third party agents for the distribution and promotion of its products (e.g. Australia, China, Greece, Israel, Saudi Arabia, South Africa and UK). Flen Pharma's first line of products is in wound care. Future products are being developed in the dermatological and related fields. Current commercialised Flen Pharma products are Flaminal® Hydro, Flaminal® Forte, Flamigel®, Flamirins® and Extracalm®.
