The Capstone Commission on Socially Responsible Investing shall endeavor to evaluate the University of Alabama System's Endowment Fund performance through a combination of original and established Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) performance rating systems. To attain this goal, CCSRI shall (1) recruit the and retain students with a demonstrated interest in sustainability, corporate social responsibility, and socially responsible investments, (2) improve its training, research, and operational processes to provide more meaningful ESG evaluations as the field advances, (3) maintain close contact with University administrators to provide input on endowment performance and identify areas for potential improvement, (4) publish quarterly reports summarizing the endowment's ESG performance for public consumption, (5) encourage both personal and institutional commitments to investing in environmentally and socially responsible assets. CCSRI will consider the following as indicators of organizational health: the number and quality of applications received during recruitment cycles, the quality of the ESG research methodology and reporting standards employed by the group as perceived by its members, faculty advisors, and university administrators, and the extent to which the University implements changes in its portfolio following CCSRI's recommendations.
