Since 1991, Sustainable Seattle has been assembling community members from a range of backgrounds, experiences, and sectors to align, amplify, and activate a more sustainable Seattle. S2's Indicators for a Sustainable Community was emulated as a model of sustainability assessment by over ninety cities worldwide and garnered an award from the United Nations. S2 also runs community programs that include demonstration sites, educational programs, partnerships, and an accelerator for community-led sustainability initiatives. Mission: Sustainable Seattle works to build a thriving future through initiatives that deliver environmental, economic and community benefits, promote equity, and build resilience.Vision: A thriving, regenerative, sustainable Seattle which centers reciprocity, liberation, and restored abundance.
