In 1950 the name was changed to the San Diego Art Institute, and three years later women were allowed membership into the organization.SDAI became a nonprofit in 1963 and has since remained the premier organization showcasing artists from the Southern California/Baja Norte region.We achieve this mission by creating innovative programs that respond to the needs of our communities, by offering world-class facilities to exhibit artwork, and by forging partnerships on a local and global scale.
