Striving for More, Inc is a nonprofit childhood cancer support organization that offers quality physical, emotional and spiritual support to these children.Diane Moore's passion for helping families is personal, as she lost her 8 year old daughter, Colleen, to Osteosarcoma in 2008. After the Moore family's tragic experience, Diane noticed that there was an alarming lack of psychological and emotional support available in hospitals for children with cancer. Striving for More is dedicated to ensuring that children with cancer and their families receive quality emotional and spiritual support.Striving For More, Inc. offers this support to UNC and Duke Children's oncology departments in the following ways: patient support groups, Art Therapy, Book Donations, Beads of Courage program, Chemo Duck Program, Procedure Room Art Mural, Medical Play Dolls and additional resources for parents. Striving For More, Inc.'s long term goal is to fund a Child Life Specialists, Social Workers and Pediatric Psychologists who would fully focus on the Pediatric Oncology children.Striving for More seeks to reshape attitudes to recognize psychological and emotional support as an integral part of cancer care. Education is a key component of all we do. We welcome the opportunity to speak at events in order to raise public awareness.
