The Democracy and Culture Foundation aims to empower society through citizen engagement and better governance.Our headquarters are in London, with an office in Athens. Our small global team is led by Achilles Tsaltas (President) and Louise Hunter (Managing Director) and its members are located in the UK, France and Greece.A Board of Governors oversees our policies and objectives and works to establish our ethical values while ensuring our objectives are met.Our Leadership Council acts as the body of the last appeal. It takes the lead in sourcing funding for the Foundation while giving strategic advice, safeguarding ethical standards and ensuring the Foundation has a presence in all networks.An open-number honorary Board of Patrons offers know-how, opens up funding sources and promotes the Foundation's work and achievements. Following the dual assaults by the pandemic and populism, we now have to confront the economic and social fallout from the crises. Democracy can prevail, but only if it is practised, defended, updated and believed in.The Foundation identifies pressing issues, from migration to disinformation to climate change, and then undertakes a process of collective intelligence and deliberative democracy to propose concrete solutions that we can then enact through our own programs and those of partner organizations.
