Magalies Water is a Water Board established in terms of section 29 of the Water Services Act, (Act No 108 of 1997) and Public Entity as per Schedule 3B of the Public Finance Management Act (Act No 1 of 1999), as amended.According to statistics recorded during the previous censors, the water boards collectively serve more than 24 million people via 90 municipalities which in turn equates to more than half of the population. This figure has since grown exponentially.We report directly to the Minister of Water and Sanitation and our core mandate is to meet Section 29 obligations and provide viable Section 30 initiatives as and when required per the Water Services Act, (Act 108 of 1997).
