Houston, TX, US • 100 - 249 Employees
Non-Profit

MAM began with the faith community standing as one to meet the needs of the poor during one of Houston's most difficult economic downturns. On December, 1981, 13 local churches and 1 synagogue responded to a call from Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church to attend a meeting for the proposal of a coalition of Memorial Area Churches to develop a network for emergency services for families living in poverty. That 'network' officially became known as MAM in June of 1982. Since that time, MAM has remained focused on delivering programs of family stability. As responsible stewards, we are grounded in faith, offering hope, preserving dignity, and open to all.MAM is committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming environment for all of its clients, employees, volunteers, and vendors. MISSION To build stable families, a dynamic workforce and vibrant communities...together!WE: Envision a Houston of boundless opportunities, filled with hope, stability and belonging.PHILOSOPHY OF SERVICE Our philosophy of service is one of personalized support, believing that every client is capable, creative, and whole.www.maministries.orgMAM staff and volunteers provide immediate assistance and intervention to help clients who are in crisis. Clients receive emotional support and encouragement and are actively engaged to reflect on the underlying cause of the crisis and capacitated to work towards a stable financial future. MAM volunteers and case managers ensure that clients are linked to MAM programs and other appropriate community services.MAM programming is divided into three areas: Family Assistance Programs, Family Education Programs, and Programs for Children in School. Our goal is to assist Houston families so they can be stable and healthy, with the means to meet their basic needs and improve their economic security.https://www.facebook.com/MAMHoustonhttp://www.twitter.com/MAMHouston
