The Wooden Nickel Restaurant has been a Monroeville staple since its opening in 1952. Throughout the years it has consistently provided the people of Monroeville a quaint and relaxed setting where they can enjoy not only great food but also great company. In 2011, the Wooden Nickel was purchased by new owner Jeff Ross who is also a successful grocery store owner/operator. The restaurant is managed by Executive Chef/General Manager, Joe Bello. Joe is the former Sous Chef at the Capital Grille Pittsburgh and Executive Chef at Ditka's Steakhouse. With this change in ownership came a complete remodel of the restaurant and the menu. If you haven't had a chance to stop in yet to see the brand new dining room (which used to be the tent area) or try any of the delicious dishes, make sure you add it to you list of to dos. The NEW Wooden Nickel is quickly becoming a revived and redefined local favorite. We have recently added a new location in the North Huntingdon area due to the success of the Monroeville location. In addition, we have implemented a new catering program.
