I am a well-known Intellectual Property lawyer, lecturer and legal author, specializing in patents for high technology, biotech, chemistry, electronics, and software-driven algorithm processes and business methods. I get patents of value that cover competitors. I don't "formulate" IP strategies like other lawyers -- I execute them. As VP of Intellectual Property at two different biotechnology companies over a 20 year period, where I appealed rejections in over 30 patent applications, I won over 80% of such appeals (a "win" being defined as a patent issuing from the appeal within a short time after the appeal decision). Since re-entering private practice in 2010 I have won every appeal of an Examiner's rejection which has gone to a decision. While others claim success at defeating patent trolls by invalidating their patents with "new procedures," I have used the older, and far less expensive process of reexamination. And I have succeeded in having full cancellation of the entire patent (not just parts, as is often the case) in every of the reexaminations I have filed. I'm 100% succesful 100% of the time for a fraction of what others are charging (which is also how I do patents). As for the patents I get, I do that much faster and for much less (1/4 or less) than what law firms charge. I work on subcommittees for the AIPLA and have many colleagues who I may consult with on particular issues. Many of my legal articles are cited by other lawyers and by the courts, including the US Federal Circuit Court of Appeals (which hears all appeals in patent cases).
