Children's Center is a private, non-profit child abuse intervention center accredited by the National Children's Alliance. Children are referred to us by law enforcement agencies, child protective workers, parents, teachers, health care providers, and others concerned for their welfare. Our mission is to support and medically assess children who are suspected victims of abuse or neglect. By providing medical examinations and forensic interviews, we support Clackamas County children and families experiencing suspected physical abuse, sexual abuse, emotional abuse and neglect, including drug endangerment and witness to violence.- Medical examinations are comprehensive head-to-toe exams aimed at evaluating a child's health and wellbeing. Medical providers may also perform or order testing for the child, such as urine testing, hair testing, or x-rays.- Specially trained forensic interviewers provide developmentally-appropriate interviews for children in a safe and neutral environment. The forensic interviews are digitally recorded and observed by child protective services and law enforcement at the Center.- Family Support services are available to any concerned caregiver, even if the child is not seen in the clinic for a full assessment. - Our team of physicians, nurse practitioners, forensic interviewers, mental health providers, educators, and trained volunteers work alongside community partners to increase awareness of child abuse and provide professionals, caregivers, and families with the knowledge and helpful tools they need to help keep children safe.Incorporated as a 501(c)3 in 2002, Children's Center hired its first administrative staff and worked out of Willamette Falls Hospital Foundation office in Oregon City. In 2015 Children's Center received accreditation from the National Children's Alliance, which provides support, technical assistance and quality assurance to nearly 800 child abuse intervention centers nationwide.
