MedShare was founded in 2005 by Barry Billings in Ontario, Canada. The goal was to improve health outcomes while reducing cost in the home health care sector. The outcome of our efforts would be an overall improvement in the value delivered by health care, and a direct increase in the system's capacity.MedShare focused on developing an integrated electronic medical records platform for the home and community care sector. The solution included web-based applications for the office staff and mobile point of care applications for community based health care workers. The system was designed around a client-centered model that retained the clinical information in a longitudinal health care record. The solution promoted multi-disciplinary care with consent-based access to current and historic health information.A comprehensive EHR platform for Home and Community care was an ambitious goal back in 2005. We delivered much of what we envisioned with leadership from our clinical advisory board and a great team of hard-working technology and software development professionals. The company grew to 28 employees in our Cambridge, Ontario office with a dozen large home care agency clients. MedShare's strategy for success was recognized by CellTrak Technologies, a similar company based in Schaumburg, Illinois. In 2011, CellTrak acquired MedShare and the teams merged to form the leading mobile software provider in the home and community care sector. We continue to service Canada from our Cambridge office.
