Our StoryMark of the Potter first opened in the spring of 1969. For 50 years, generations of families have traditionally come to experience the intersection of history, art, and nature where local artists produce and sell functional American made pottery. History lives in this 1930's gristmill that overlooks the Soque River, where our "giant" pet trout happily await a feeding from our guests. Our MissionOur mission at Mark of the Potter is to foster the continuation of a 200-year-old North Georgia pottery tradition. Through educational programs, mentorship opportunities, onsite production, and a retail gallery. The public can appreciate all aspects of the pottery-making process.
