Reel Stories is a non-profit filmmaking program designed to give students the skills they need to develop, produce and distribute stories that reflect their unique point of view. Working in small, collaborative groups and utilizing accessible technologies, the youth are encouraged to actively participate in every stage of the filmmaking process, from development through distribution. Taught by current female leaders in the media industry, our filmmaking programs give them the opportunity to make and broadcast their own short films through: Production Classes, for practical skills; Media Literacy workshops, to help them analyze and evaluate their messages; Leadership workshops, to give them the confidence to lead.In a world where "you can't be what you can't see", our hope is that each camper comes away with a stronger belief in the power of their own voice, the power of storytelling, and the power of their community. Reel Stories is powered by BAVC.
