ILR began as a grass-roots effort by people with disabilities to help those with disabilities. This history gives ILR the unique ability to provide services for and address issues concerning the Disability Community. Now an organized entity, ILR takes a multi-tiered approach to achieving viable solutions for their client base. By providing free assistive services to persons with disabilities, educating the public about the needs and abilities of the Disability Community, and advocating for systemic and social change, ILR hopes to encourage autonomous living and community unity. All services provided by Independent Living Resources are free of charge for persons with disabilities and seniors, their families and the agencies which serve them.
