St. Helens Rugby Football Club is a globally recognised professional Rugby League club based in St. Helens, Merseyside, which was founded in 1873 and plays in the Super League. Nicknamed the 'Saints'​, the club is one of the oldest members of the Rugby Football League - in 1895 the club were one of 22 clubs that resigned from the Rugby Football Union and established the Northern Union.
