The Cycling Club is established to promote cycling amongst both undergraduate and graduate students at Boston College. The club serves as a resource for students seeking to ride for personal benefit as well as those interested in serious competition. The Cycling Club is a member of the Eastern Collegiate Cycling Conference (ECCC). The Cycling Club is open to all students regardless of fitness level and cycling experience. Every effort will be made to attract new members to further expand the team. The team is also aimed at recruited female riders and exposing more women to the sport of cycling by facilitating women's rides, workshops, and supporting women's racing. The goal is facilitate an environment in which both serious riders and newcomers to the sport can grow and compete. Members of the cycling club are permitted to engage in all types of bicycling as long as consent is given by the Boston College Club Sports office. Members are encouraged to continue Boston College's competition in the ECCC in both mountain and road biking categories. The Cycling Club will always seek to fulfill the mission of the Boston College Sports Program as listed below. The mission of the Boston College Club Sports program is to provide athletic opportunities to those students who are seeking a level of competition and camaraderie at a higher level. In keeping with the Flynn Recreation Complex mission, the Club Sports program focuses specifically on the physical component of the Boston College mission in its commitment to the formation of the whole person—intellectually, physically, socially, and spiritually. Additionally, the BC Club Sports program is committed to sponsoring programs that promote excellence, good sportsmanship and leadership.
