PUNCH Torino S.P.A. is a company specialized in the design and development of innovative propulsion systems and control solutions. It is based in the “Cittadella Politecnica” in Turin’s city center, actively cooperating on various projects with the Turin Polytechnic University. Founded in 2005 by GM with the name of General Motors Powertrain Europe, in February 2020 it became part of the PUNCH Group – a leading supplier for the development, integration and manufacturing of driveline and powertrain solutions. PUNCH Torino has maintained a strong relationship with General Motors, being also an authorized integrator of GM Powertrain Solutions on the EMEA and APAC markets for business customers. In 2021 PUNCH and Magneti Marelli have established a joint venture focusing on e-axles. PUNCH Torino’s business range does not limit itself to the automotive sector. Recently, PUNCH Torino has heavily invested to enter the marine market and has become a supplier of TIER1 marine companies. In May 2021, PUNCH Torino founded the new company PUNCH Hydrocells S.r.L, dedicated to the development of hydrogen-powered solutions. In January 2022, the spin-off of PUNCH Torino’s Software and Controls division gave birth to the new company PUNCH Softronix. PUNCH’s ecosystem also features two start-up companies: AITEM, which is dedicated to research on artificial intelligence and To.Tem, that is focused on micro mobility by designing electric scooters.
