A wholly owned subsidiary of Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd, Kawasaki Motores do Brasil was established October 2008 at Manaus and São Paulo cities, Brazil.The sales and administration office at São Paulo manages the establishment of a nation-wide dealers' network, for exclusive sales of Kawasaki products and maintenance service. 25 stores were open in the first year, expanding to 50 stores by the end of 2011. The assembly plant at the Manaus (Amazon) Industrial District began full-scale production in October 2009. Total sales reached 2,200 units in 2009, climbing to 10,500 units in 2011 (including import and local production models).Amidst declining two-wheel sales in mature markets, Kawasaki is quickly expanding its' share of the growing premium motorcycle market in Brazil.
