Majedie was established in 2002 and is an independent, employee-owned investment firm offering a focused range of high conviction equity funds invested in shares of publicly quoted companies. At Majedie, we concentrate simply on doing what is best for our clients. We have a deep sense of alignment and a shared sense of purpose; we are proud to be building something together for the long term. This approach has allowed us to create a highly specialist, free-thinking and collaborative environment, driven by challenge and debate. Every team member owns equity in our business and this fosters a culture of long-term thinking and accountability. Good performance can never be guaranteed – but as owner-managers we can remove many of those barriers that can ensure the opposite. We have a role to play in making the world a better place and as active stewards of our investments, we encourage them to be the best they can be across all their business practices. We allocate capital to those companies that demonstrate sound, longer-term investment opportunities and which also manage their business in ways that are sustainable. We call this Responsible Capitalism. It has always made sense to us that having a variety of perspectives and approaches to problem solving prevents groupthink and enhances decision making.
