The KLAW LNG safety system will then operate to firstly shut down the transfer process on ship or terminal facility (ESD-1) and rapidly disconnect the hose transfer system (ESD-2) via the use of a powered emergency released coupling (ERC) with independent isolation valves to both protect the hoses and keep the cargo contained within the transfer system.
