East Lothian based Allan-Ross's nursing and home care services make it possible for elderly and disabled people to continue living safely, comfortably and as independently as possible in their own homes. We provide a wide range of tailored home care services, from flexible nursing and personal care, to outings, companionship, domestic services and learning disability support. Since 1998 we have cared for more than 1,000 clients in their own homes and supplied a similar number of emergency nursing staff to nursing homes. We are happy to advise clients on how best to pay for home care services. Funding in Scotland for ‘personal care' is free for those over 65 (subject to a SW Assessment) and we can help with Direct Payments. Whatever our client's needs, we provide personalised homecare services. Someone may be recovering from an illness or operation and need short-term help. An elderly person's health may be failing but they want to stay at home for as long as possible. A family member might be suffering from a long term or terminal illness and need care. Our nursing and care services include help with washing, bathing, dressing and undressing, toilet needs, getting to and from bed, preparing and serving meals and taking medication. As registered nurses, Maureen Allan and I set up Allan-Ross to provide very caring, friendly, holistic care. This is based on our ethos of providing the high standard of care we would want to give our own families. Our vision can only be achieved through training our carers, so delighted that this has now been formally recognised through achieving Investors in People (IIP) accreditation. We also offer training to outside organisations on areas such as Moving and Handling, Understanding Dementia, and Health and Social Care, as well as being an SVQ & EDI accredited training centre.
