Base Major Construction (Pty) Ltd was registered in 2007 in the Republic of South Africa as MCC17 Construction thereafter changing their name into No.17 Metallurgical Construction (Pty) Ltd. Base Major Construction has 8 fully qualified professionals who are registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa and the South African Council of Quantity Surveyors respectively. Part of our team of engineers are participating on various contracts being done by Base Major Construction, while the rest are standby for new projects we are going to tender on. Over and above this team we have 7 site managers and 19 foremen, both in general building and civil engineering added to which are further teams of electrical and mechanical engineers. Base Major has as its subsidiary, Kobus Devenhage Building & Civil Construction, who are currently involved in the construction of the Upington Referral Hospital, a project estimated at R600 million for completion in 2011. Apart from this, the company has also completed the Mbombela Road for which the total cost was around R347 Million completed in May of 2010, notwithstanding Base Major Construction (Pty) Ltd completed the New Office Complex for Ehlanzeni District Municipality in Nelspruit in May of 2010. The cost for which was about R230 million Rand. Our most recent contract, which started 30 October 2010, is the Mopani Raw Water Bulkline from Nandni to Nsami - this project, a joint venture with Tlong Re Yeng Trading and Project cc from Limpopo, is valued at around R218 million. Base Major Construction (Pty) Ltd has been certified with a full BEE 7 status and holds a Bank rating C. Our turn over from February 2009 to February 2010 stands at around R508 million.
