The Ghana Insurance College was established by 2006 by four of the major stakeholders of the Ghanaian Insurance Industry; National Insurance Commission (NIC), Ghana Insurance Brokers Association (GIBA), the Ghana Insurance Association (GIA) and the Insurance Institute of Ghana (IIG) to provide training and education for all levels of insurance professionals who will champion the advancement of ethical insurance practices and professional competence in the industry. Commercial operations started in 2007 and the first six years of operations showed a growing level of activity and financially sustainable operations. The College is currently the key training and education institution for all levels of insurance professionals in the insurance industry in Ghana.
