Methodist College Belfast, or Methody as the College is commonly known is situated on the South side of Belfast in a pleasant suburban setting opposite Queens's University, the college comprises a grammar school with 1807 pupils between the ages of 11 and 18, and a Pre-school and Preparatory Department catering for a further 271 pupils between 4 and 11 years. One part of the Pre-school and Preparatory Department, Fullerton House, is situated in the college grounds, while the other part, Downey House, stands in the middle of the extensive College playing fields at Pirrie Park. Interdenominational since its foundation in 1865 and co-educational within months of its opening in 1868, the College is proud of the continued growth in the diversity of its pupils, both past and present, and celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2018.
