Kings Avionics, Inc.

New Century, KS, US • 20 - 49 Employees
Aerospace/Defense

Kings Avionics was started in 1969 by Steve Hayden to fill a need at Johnson County Executive Airport. Kings got its name from the FBO in which it had leased space, King's Flying Service owned by Bill King.Shortly after the beginning Dave Hayden (Steve's brother) and Gary Morris came on board with their expertise in avionics repair. By 1974 Steve had left the business to accomplish the same thing in Casper, WY leaving Dave and Gary to own and operate Kings Avionics. In 1977 Dave and Gary moved the shop to Downtown Airport in Kansas City, MO. This is where they really built the business and added several employees. In 1984 the downtown airport traffic was slowing down so Dave and Gary moved the business again back to Johnson County Executive Airport. After 10 years at Executive Airport, and considerable growth, it became necessary to move again to accommodate growth. This time Dave and Gary built a hangar to specifically house Kings Avionics. This put us in our current location at New Century Air Center. And here we will stay for a very long time!!!!!!
