The school bears the name of an illustrious and learned sanyasi priest Very Rev. Prof. DR. Placid Joseph Podipara CMI. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Monastery, Chethipuzha and was loved and admired by people far and near. The school was formally inaugurated as an English Medium High school n 15th July, 1984 by Mr. T.M Jacob, the then Minister of State for Education. It is my desire as an educator to help students meet their fullest potential in these areas by providing an environment that is safe, supports risk-taking, and invites a sharing of ideas. Every decision we make, as well as our thought process, is the basis of what we know. Gaining knowledge gives us pleasure as well as boosts our morale. Education should be part of everyone's life because it is one of the most precious possessions a person could ever have since that can open doors and facilitate the pathway for future achievement and economic successes. To me, this is the ultimate goal of education. W. B. Yeats said it this way: "Education is not the filling of a pail but the lighting of a fire". For us education is finding light in the darkness. Thus my team is well aware that our duty is to kindle the gift of life in ourselves, in others, and in the world.
