Muslims Against Hunger Project is a north American network of volunteer communities to help the hungry and homeless in our backyard. it is a volunteer run grass root effort to mobilize and educate the Muslim community and the community-at-large about the problems of Hunger, Poverty, and Homelessness. Muslims Against Hunger Soup Kitchen and 1 World Community Cafe projects are feeding hot lunches and dinners to homeless, hungry, and working poor in 20 plus cities with the help of 3000 plus volunteers from various faiths. It is an Islamic tradition to feed the poor and needy. Our feeding programs give the Muslim community an opportunity to participate in the "Act of Righteousness," and show the community-at-large the true and compassionate face of the Muslims and Islam. Currently we are running broad range of interrelated programs to alleviate hunger and homelessness including Soup Kitchen and 1 World Community Cafe projects. We are working to help start Soup Kitchen and 1 World Community Cafe projects around the World by organizing and training volunteers from all faiths in how to start and support programs to alleviate hunger and homelessness. Our projects are not only helping to feed the hungry, but are also creating a silent dialogue and helping to get diverse groups of individuals together to work for a common cause. In doing so, we begin to learn from one another and grow in our understanding of one another.
