Marion's Carpet Warehouse has been in business for almost 50 years. Marion's was originally a furniture upholstery company named after the founder, Marion Skoro. In the early 70's, one of Marion's upholstery customers was a carpet executive who convinced Marion that the flooring business had a very bright future. Marion agreed and soon began carrying carpet lines. He later added Tiles, Hardwoods, Rugs and Laminates.\\In the early 1990's, Marion and his son Carl were running Marion's together. The Rodda Paint Company approached them with a store concept that put the two companies together. The idea was to keep ownership separate but make beautiful design centers where customers could design everything at one place. It was a huge success and Marion's had seven locations by the late 1990's.\\One of these seven locations was a giant store on Grand avenue. Marion's customers started traveling from all over the state to see the massive warehouse on Grand. Because of this and the selection Marion's could put together in a larger facility, the smaller satellite stores located with Rodda were closed. Today Marion's has two massive warehouses on Grand avenue with a total merchandising space of 50,000 square feet.
