Knoxville Raceway is a half-mile dirt race track in Knoxville, Iowa. Originally opened in the late 1800's as a horse track it has since evolved to the "Sprint Car Capital of the World" that hosts racing every Saturday night from April through August. Weekly racing began in 1954. We annually host the most prestigious dirt racing event, the Knoxville Nationals, every August. The Nationals was created in 1961 and brings 23,000 fans to the city of Knoxville, Iowa (population 7,000) for a four day event that pays out nearly $1,000,000 in prize money to the 100 plus race teams who come to compete! The Knoxville Raceway is operated by the Marion County Fair Association.
