At Wave, we help each other to overcome the fear, prejudice and isolation that is often associated with learning disability. We provide opportunities for individuals with and without learning disabilities to comfortably mix, socialise and work together - doing stuff ‘with' and not ‘for' each other. \\Wave currently comprises a number of groups:\-The Challenge Group is a weekly support and playgroup for families with babies with additional needs, which \ provides a space to feel supported and relaxed in\- Wave Club runs activities and events that make it easy for young adults with and without learning disabilities \ to socialise and campaign together \- Wave Church provides monthly accessible church meetings for adults with learning disabilities who struggle to get the most out of mainstream services\- Pop-up is a refreshment stall run by a mixed ability team that serves at community festivals and events \\Our aim is to establish a creative space and cafe social enterprise in Muswell Hill, that will be a popular venue for local artists and performers - a place that will also provide volunteering and work opportunities for our members with learning disabilities.\\We hope this initiative will enable our neighbourhood to be one where 'we are all valued equally'​ – irrespective of intellectual ability.
