Transport and Planning Agent - Major Wire Industries in Canada
MAJOR, formerly known as Major Marketplace, was founded in 2017 by social entrepreneur, Leyanis Diaz. Originally, we set out to create an online marketplace that connected minority-owned businesses with those who wanted to support them, but we quickly realized that that solution alone was not enough to solve the underlying problem. Today, part online incubator and development center, MAJOR is a one-stop shop for minority-owned businesses, providing underrepresented founders with access to opportunities and resources they may not otherwise have access to. We are on a mission to keep minority-owned businesses from closing their doors and we seek to create a world where we all have access to the same opportunities. Through our advocacy and thought leadership, we fight to ensure minority-owned businesses have a seat at the table and always have their voices heard. Through our data and research, we aim to understand the small business landscape and use data-driven decisions to create opportunities for minority-owned businesses. Through our minority business development and technical assistance, we promote the growth and build the capacity and capabilities of minority-owned businesses and through our technology development, we provide minority-owned businesses with access to the technology they need to start, grow and prosper. Our support of minority-owned businesses allow us to help close racial wealth gaps, strengthen local economies, assist in creating jobs, in celebrating minority culture, and helps us better serve minority communities.
