Social Work Intern at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Family Services of Westchester (BBBS) - , New York, United States
ABOUT USBig Brothers Big Sisters of Westchester (BBBS) is a youth mentoring organization. Since 1958, our mission has been to help children realize and reach their potential through professionally supported one-to-one mentoring relationships. We operate under a Big/Little model, matching adult volunteers (our "Bigs") with children (our "Littles"). These meaningful and enduring relationships have proven to positively change our Littles' lives.OUR HISTORYStarted over 100 years ago in New York City, Big Brothers Big Sisters is the oldest and largest youth mentoring program in the United States, matching caring volunteers with children in one-to-one mentoring relationships. There are nearly 400 Big Brothers Big Sisters agencies across the country and more than 275,000 volunteer Bigs.BECOME A BIGAs the country's largest mentoring program, you can feel confident that by volunteering, you will make a significant and very real impact on a child's life. We ask that, once paired, you arrange time to meet with your mentee ("Little") just four hours a month. Depending on the Big Brothers Big Sisters program you're in, you will meet at your Little's school, at your workplace or in the community. We match volunteers over the age of 21 with children between 7-17 years old in Westchester County. We are especially in need of male volunteers to match with our large wait list of male mentees.Being a Big Brother or Big Sister is incredibly fulfilling and fun, so please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions by contacting us.CONTACT US:Valerie Brown, Executive Director914-937-3779vbrown@fsw.orgRikki Dee Childs, Assistant Director914-937-3779Rchilds@fsw.orgBig Brothers Big Sisters of Westchester County10 Midland Avenue, Suite 203Port Chester, NY 10573
