Stillwaters was founded in 1994 by Mary Soergel who lost her young son to brain cancer. It was established as a community-based, non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization. Stillwaters was dedicated to providing cancer-specific professional counseling and emotional support for anyone affected by cancer, at any age, regardless of ability to pay. The core programs and services of Stillwaters included: Individual & Family Counseling | Children's Counseling & Support Groups | Cancer Survivor & Wellness Program | Facilitated Support Groups | Educational Workshops/Retreats | Grief & Loss Programs | Lifestyle Programs | Art Therapy In late 2017, the organization was dissolved.
