Efficiency and Risk assessment in maintaining mission critical IDMS environment.One exemple of Hera evolution customers;For the largest Rail transport company in North America, Hera evolution is providing a 24/7 support of all IDMS environment. This customer is a very large MVS shop. In that context we are the level one and level two for all problems related to IDMS environment. We are responding according pre commit SLAs. In that context we are also in charge of keeping contact with Computer Associates tech support for all level 3 problems. That does include the normal operation of the production IDMS system (DB/DC) and the entire IDMS development environment. We are also in charge of keeping the IDMS environment up to date by applying all the appropriate APR'S and keep IDMS release in line with CA policies. We are keeping this customer up to date since release 12 of IDMS and we have done all the releases migrations since then. This customer is actually running release 17. We also have the responsibilities to maintain and keep efficient/performance and tuning the entire CA-IDMS database (DBA role) and the entire IDMS central version (DCA role). For the development group we are also the development IDMS DBA's. We are also involved in disaster recovery procedure for all IDMS component. At the exception of disaster recovery that is done on the "D.R." site, all these activities are done throw-out our "at distance facilities" business model.
