Women and Child Support Organization (WOCSO) is a registered organization in the federal republic of Somalia as a non for profit and non-governmental organization. It was started by a group of youth professionals and practitioners in 2007 to address and respond to the concerns and growing cases for the rights of women and children in south central Somalia. Mogadishu is the headquarters of the organization. WOCSO has had a solid and continuous national presence successfully implementing programs since 2007, where it is currently undertaking several projects in close collaboration with the Federal Government of Somalia, Federal Member States and partners from international organizations such as Danish Refugee Council, CESV and Norwegian Refugee Council. WOCSO' projects focus on several key sectors that include child protection, gender based violence, community based structures capacity building and project management. We are guided by the principles of accountability, collective responsibility, transparency, equity and social justice among others as evident in the profile.WOCSO is a member of Somali Child Rights Organizations' Coalition, National Child Protection and GBV Working Groups based in Mogadishu.
