The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) is the chief legal office of the District of Columbia. OAG is charged with enforcing the laws of the District and promoting the public interest. OAG's mission is to provide the District government with the highest level of legal advice and service, and to promote the interest of District residents.With nearly 340 attorneys and 300 staff members dispersed throughout 28 subordinate agencies, OAG is one of the largest law offices in the District of Columbia and the 10th largest Attorney General's Office in the nation.
