Green Culture is an organization run by the 'ISC Green Team' in Curitiba, Brazil. The team itself, is made up of: students, teachers, parents, and staff members associated with the International School of Curitiba. However, the organization conducts meetings at the International School of Curitiba, where it is located, in order to plan and implement a variety of environmental oriented initiatives not only for the International School of Curitiba but also for its community's members. The goal of the organization is to educate the community towards promoting and creating a more eco-friendly future, while learning to appreciate and protect the environment. In addition to focusing on sustainability, the organization conducts activities such as gardening classes, ecological trips, and landscaping the school campus. Some of our first initiatives included the reduction of food waste from 70 kilos a day to never more than 10 kilos a day school-wide, collection of 80 kilos of used batteries; PTA's acquisition of new reusable plastic dishes; selling of Eco Bags and Green T-shirts, and planting native seeds in the ISC Jaime Lerner Bosque. Current actions include reducing paper usage totals, as well as both water and electricity monthly totals.
