Flounder Brewing is a north-jersey home grown soon-to-be nanobrewery. It all started in a kitchen in Morristown, NJ. We're talking one of those tiny apartment style kitchens where you can stand in the middle and touch the entire room with one sweep of the arm. Flounder soon pulled in his two brothers, Dan and Mike, to help him with his homebrew adventure. Although all three couldn't fit in the kitchen at the same time, they managed to turn the apartment into a homebrew paradise. Wanting to go bigger, the guys decided to invest in a larger brew system called a SABCO system. Too big for the apartment, the brothers moved their operation over to a garage - it didn't take long before the weekends became a place for friends and family to come over, BBQ around a firepit and brew some great beer. The team began working on their flagship beer which had been inspired by the guys' grandfather who was a beekeeper and the original artisan in the family. That flagship beer is known as the Flounder Brewing Company's Hill Street Honey Ale. The guys knew they had something good…something real…something that people would enjoy. Wanting to turn their beer brewing hobby into a full time gig meant taking a risk. Still keeping their day jobs, they decided to open a nano brewery with the intention to one day expand. In 2010 they leased a building in Hillsborough, NJ—and hence the Flounder Brewing Company was officially born.
