Kerogen Systems Inc. has developed, demonstrated and patented process technology for the production of high value carbon products from kerogen. Further funding is needed to commercialize the technology. The technology is designed to replace conventional crude oil processed into petrochemicals, creating a low carbon footprint alternative which benefits progress towards Net Zero targets. The process uses renewable energy, not fossil fuel, so there are no CO2 or other combustion product emissions. A Utah state grant enabled construction of a pilot plant in Vernal, Utah. Pilot plant operation has successfully demonstrated the efficacy of Keragen Systems technology. Petrochemicals are directly fractionated by the process for greater thermal efficiency. The petrochemicals are predominantly in the C8 to C40 range; linear paraffins, linear alpha-olefins, cyclical, and aromatic carbon molecules. The technology enables management of heteroatoms such as N, S and As for increased product value in agrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, surfactants, solvents, polymers, asphalt and a host of other industrial materials, medical and consumer products. Those interested in the technology, the production of petrochemicals or sources of low carbon intensity petrochemical feedstocks are encouraged to contact us.
